What This Part Does
Every time an ATM dispenses cash, the feedshaft rotates. Its rollers grip the top note in the cassette and push it into the transport path. The overmold provides the rubberized grip surface that makes contact with the bill.
Over hundreds of thousands of cycles, the rubber overmold wears smooth. Grip drops. Notes start slipping instead of feeding. The ATM reports a dispense failure — but the real problem is a feedshaft that can no longer grab.
