ATM Anti-Skimming Parts — NCR, Diebold Nixdorf, Wincor and Hyosung
Skimming is a family of attacks, not one. An overlay skimmer is glued over the card slot. A throat skimmer is pushed inside the reader. A trapping device holds the card — or the cash — until the customer gives up and walks away. Every one of them has to be fitted at the same place: the card entry and the dispense shutter on the fascia. That is why the parts that stop them are fascia parts — card reader bezels with an integrated anti-fraud device, anti-skimming covers, complete anti-skimming reader assemblies and slot guards.
EAST's European Payment Terminal Crime Report covering 2024 shows where the attacks moved: card trapping up 66% (1,630 to 2,704 incidents), cash trapping up 105% (4,795 to 9,811), transaction reversal fraud up 367% (338 to 1,577) and relay attacks up 505% (63 to 381). Total reported losses were €71 million, and €67 million of that was international issuer losses from card skimming. Card skimming itself is now rare in Europe — but the crime did not disappear, it moved onto the same fascia with mechanical devices the customer cannot see. In markets where skimming is still active, both problems run at the same time.
Regulation is following the attacks. Nigeria's Central Bank draft guidelines on ATM operations (October 2025) require ATMs to be installed with anti-skimming devices, together with CCTV and annual key changes. When a requirement like that lands, the bezel stops being optional — and fleets that had been waiting start ordering.
NCR — Card Entry Bezel and Anti-Skimming Reader Assembly
The NCR SelfServ card entry is the most common geometry in the field, and the anti-skimming parts for it are well established. The bezel is a moulded part: when it cracks at a mounting ear, or the clips stretch, it has to be replaced — a bezel that does not seat square is a bezel a thief can lift.

Diebold Nixdorf — DIP Reader Anti-Skimming Module
On Diebold and Diebold Nixdorf terminals the anti-skimming function sits on the reader itself rather than on the trim. The module detects an overlay or a throat device and takes the reader out of service, which is why a failed module is a machine down — not a cosmetic fault.

One point worth knowing before you order: the 49-221699 anti-skimming module carries a suffix that changes with the build — -000A, -000B, -000D, -000F are all in circulation, and the reader treats them as different assemblies. Send us the suffix printed on the label, not just the base number.
Wincor Nixdorf — ProCash Anti-Skimming Bezel
The Wincor card entry is a two-piece arrangement: the plastic anti-skimmer sits behind the outer trim. On a service fleet both pieces are normally changed together, because the trim has to come off either way and a reused trim is already stressed at the clips.

Hyosung is the platform where we are most careful. Anti-skimming coverage is thinner than for NCR or Wincor, and availability depends on what is already in the supply chain rather than on a catalogue. Send the model and the part number and we will confirm what we can actually ship before you plan a rollout around it.
What Breaks, and What a Skimmer Leaves Behind
- The bezel goes with the skimmer. The adhesive used on an overlay device is stronger than the mounting clips. A machine that has been skimmed often needs a new bezel, not a clean-up.
- Cracked mounting ears. The trim is levered off during an inspection; a cracked ear means the bezel no longer seats square, and a bezel that does not seat square is a bezel that can be lifted.
- Dead detection loops on Diebold modules. The anti-skimming module fails electronically rather than mechanically, so the fascia looks perfect and the machine reports nothing.
- Worn card-entry trims that hold a card. A tight or glazed trim reads to the customer as skimming, even when nothing is fitted to the machine.
- "Close enough" cross-generation parts. A bezel from the wrong fascia generation will line up with the screws and leave a gap at the card slot. A gap is an invitation.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is an anti-skimming bezel, and how does it work?
The bezel is the moulded trim that surrounds the card entry on the fascia. In its anti-skimming version the profile is raised and shaped so that an overlay skimmer cannot sit flush against the slot, which makes the device visible and easy to detect. On some platforms the bezel also carries a detection element that reports an attempt to the terminal.
Does fitting an anti-skimming bezel stop all card fraud?
No, and nobody should sell it that way. A bezel removes the easiest attack on the card entry. Card trapping and cash trapping still work at the slot, and relay attacks do not touch the fascia at all. Treat the bezel as one layer — together with CCTV, PIN change discipline and inspection of the trim.
Are these parts OEM original or aftermarket?

Can we fit these parts ourselves in the field?
Yes. Card entry bezels and covers are mechanical parts and are field-replaceable on all four platforms; they need no calibration. A reader assembly with an integrated anti-skimming module is a module swap, and the terminal normally needs its self-test run afterwards.
Do you supply new or refurbished security parts?
New wherever it matters. For anti-skimming devices and detection modules we supply new stock only, because a used unit has already been stressed or may carry a detection fault that is invisible from the outside. Refurbished stock is available for purely mechanical parts such as covers.
